"Peter Pan" by J. M. Barrie; illustrated by Nora S. Unwin -- $16.50
It pains me to admit this, but despite being named for the Wendy in this book, I've never read it. Oh, I've seen multiple versions of the story in movies, but I have yet to read the original tale. In fact, the story was originally published in 1911 as 'Peter and Wendy' and then again in 1921 as 'Peter Pan and Wendy'. (My mom changed the spelling of my name to 'Wendie' to be different from all the other Wendys
born in the early 1960s, when the Broadway play starring Mary Martin was all the rage.)
This copy is from the Willow Leaf Library and is part of the J. M. Barrie 'Peter Pan Bequest', which means that Mr. Barrie's royalties went to "the doctors and nurses to cure the children who are lying ill in the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children in London."
Published in 1950, it is a hardcover in good vintage condition.
