"Arthur" (Book Three of "The Pendragon Cycle") by Stephen R Lawhead

“Arthur” by Stephen R. Lawhead

Britain is in a terrible mess. The Romans have packed up and gone home, the Saxons are sailing in uninvited, and the kings of the island spend more time quarreling with each other than defending anything. What this land needs is a hero. What it gets is a young man named Arthur, and he is just getting started.

Stephen R. Lawhead’s “Arthur” is a sweeping, spirited retelling of the legend, packed with sword fights, secret plots, and charging horses. Arthur gathers a band of loyal warriors, finds the courage he didn’t know he had, and sets out to bring the squabbling tribes together at last. He has the wise and mysterious Merlin at his side, a fine sense of justice, and the kind of destiny that doesn’t leave much room for naps.

Lawhead roots his tale in the misty, ancient Britain of long ago, with all the color, adventure, and heart you could want. It’s a story of friendship, loyalty, and the joy of a good cause, and it rolls along like a merry gallop through the hills.

This is the third book in the Pendragon Cycle, so if you love it, there is plenty more of Camelot’s world to explore. Saddle up and enjoy the ride.
