“Walter the Wolf” by Marjorie Weinman Sharmat

Have you ever met a wolf who is too perfect? Walter is that wolf. He is polite, he plays the violin, and he keeps his teeth to himself. His perfectly matched fangs have never done a single wolfish thing.

But being good all the time can wear a wolf out. One day Walter gets very tired of being perfect, and a little temptation comes along. What will a well-behaved wolf do when he doesn’t want to be well-behaved anymore?

Kelly Oechsli’s pictures are full of bright greens, a wolf in yellow shorts, and a sly fox snoozing under a tree. You can keep looking and find something new on every page. This 1975 Weekly Reader Book Club edition is a fun choice for readers in kindergarten through third grade.

This vintage hardcover is in good vintage condition. The binding and pages are tight, and the only mark inside is a child’s name on the inside cover. Come find Walter at Dead Tree Dreams.
