Core Plot and Setting
The Mission: College student and writer David Rain travels to the Arctic on a research trip with Zanna, writing a story that mysteriously mirrors real-life events.
The Conflict: The evil, possessed sibyl Gwilanna returns from Icefire and kidnaps Lucy Pennykettle to raise the dormant, petrified dragon Gawain on the Tooth of Ragnar icecap.
The Threat: Gwilanna's actions risk melting the polar ice caps and aligning a mysterious "fire star" with Earth, opening a transdimensional portal to an ancient, malevolent race known as the Fain/Ix.
