"Black Ice" by Becca Fitzpatrick

Becca Fitzpatrick’s Black Ice is a suspenseful young adult thriller set in the unforgiving Teton Range of Wyoming. Britt Pheiffer has trained to backpack the mountains over spring break, but her plans are complicated when her ex-boyfriend Calvin, who still haunts her thoughts, decides to join the trip. Before she can sort out her feelings, a blizzard forces Britt and her friend Korbie to abandon their vehicle and seek shelter in a remote cabin.

Its two occupants, Shaun and Mason, seem hospitable at first, but Britt learns they are fugitives, and she becomes their hostage. Pretending to be an expert, she promises to lead them off the mountain while hoping Calvin will find her. Along the way, she uncovers chilling evidence of murders that may be tied to her captors. With frigid storms and grizzly bears, and Mason’s kindness leaving her confused, Britt must work out who her enemies are.
