Green Fields of Wetbackland by Frank Ferree

Yes, "Wetback" is an offensive term, But a simple read of the dedication in this book shows that it was used in the title specifically to demonstrate HOW offensive it is. The book is about migrant laborers and the life they lead. It is a plea to the Mexican government to simply do a better job of offering its people opportunity. A plea to the people who actually generate the problems that are at the root of the border crisis to do a better job of addressing the real causes. A great read for anyone who actually wants to help find a solution to a systemic problem that has existed for almost a century.
